As part of the new functionality, users will be able to “Rage Shake” their phones in order to report an issue, and after images have been uploaded, the app will allow users to delete individual images from a carousel.

Instagram’s head, Adam Msseri announced the news in a video he posted to his Twitter account. According to Mosseri, users will easily be able to report any problems they may encounter on the app to the company.

Instagram already have an option of reporting issues using the “Did something go wrong?” feature in the Settings which allows users to report issues with the app.

The ‘Rage Shake’ feature now allows users to shake their smartphones to access the reporting screen which is an easier way to report issues with Instagram rather than going to Settings > Help > Report a Problem.

There is already a “Shake to Report” feature in apps such as Facebook, where users can report technical problems by shaking their devices, with the option to turn it off. A similar function is available in Snapchat, which allows users to shake their devices to report problems. Users of iOS and Android will be able to use the new “Rage Shake” feature, but only initially in the United States.

Remove a single image from your Instagram feed’s gallery

The second feature allows users to remove a single image from the feed’s gallery.

The other new feature is called “Delete Carousel” which gives users the ability to remove a single image from the carousel. Using the three-dot menu, users swipe to the photo they wish to remove and then click ‘delete.’ then click to save. The option appears as a bin icon at the top of the menu.

In his video, Moseri refers to this as the “final feature” and was highly requested for quite a while, and should have been available earlier.
